Mr Art Schreiber
General Counsel
Landmark Education Corp.

November 6, 1996

Dear Mr. Schreiber:

I am writing this letter to you at the request of Dr. Scott McClelland, who requested that I report my experiences and conclusions about Landmark Education and its programs.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in independent practice for the past fifteen years, and I teach graduate level courses in the Theology Department of The University of St. Thomas, a private Catholic university in Houston, Texas.I have been involved with and am familiar with Landmark and its programs for the past seven or eight years, both having taken Landmark programs and serving as a mental health consultant.

My conclusion is that Landmark Education is a high-quality training and consulting organization that operates responsibly and intelligently.I have seen no indications that it operates as a cult or any other kind of distorted, antisocial entity. If at any point I had concluded that were the case, I would have quickly and decisively severed my participation with the organization. I think that Landmark's programs are valuable and intelligently designed, and that the organization performs a valuable service and is not a religious group, a cult, or any other kind of theological entity.

Thank you for the opportunity of sharing my conclusions with you. I hope they are useful.

Sincerely,

Gregory W. Lester, Ph.D.
